About Emberex

Emberex is an independent UK software business and trading name. References to Emberex, we or us mean the operator of this website and Emberex Review Carousel. Etsy and Shopify do not endorse, certify, own or operate Emberex.

The service

Emberex Review Carousel imports merchant-authorised reviews, supports product mapping and moderation, accepts merchant-enabled Shopify-native review submissions, and publishes merchant-selected content through Shopify theme and customer-account extensions.

Merchant responsibilities

• Use the service only for stores, sources and content you are authorised to manage.
• Provide legally required notices and choose a lawful basis for review processing and publication.
• Moderate review content and respond to customer rights requests.
• Keep Shopify, Etsy and staff accounts secure and revoke inappropriate access promptly.
• Do not publish unlawful, deceptive, infringing or sensitive personal information through Emberex.

Review content

The merchant and reviewer retain their rights in submitted content. The merchant instructs Emberex to process and display that content only as needed to provide the service. New Shopify-native reviews remain pending until the merchant approves them. Imported Etsy content remains attributed to Etsy and is not edited by Emberex.

Data protection

The Data Processing Agreement is incorporated into these terms whenever Emberex processes customer personal data for a merchant. The merchant must accept the current agreement before enabling verified order-review access. Our Privacy Policy explains the data, purposes and retention periods.

Website use

You must not interfere with the website, attempt unauthorised access, submit malicious material, overwhelm the contact form, impersonate another person or use the website unlawfully. Website information is not professional, legal or business advice.

Availability and changes

The service depends on Shopify, Etsy, Railway and network services. Emberex maintains reasonable safeguards and recovery procedures but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Material changes to data use or this agreement require a new version and renewed merchant acceptance before protected-data functionality continues.

Suspension and termination

Emberex can suspend access where needed to protect customers, merchants or the service, or where use breaches these terms. Uninstalling the app triggers deletion of shop-owned data and credentials under the published retention and redaction process.

Intellectual property and external services

Emberex owns or licenses its website design, written material, software and branding. Etsy and Shopify names and trademarks belong to their owners. External services control their own terms, content and availability.

Liability and governing law

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and service are provided on an as-available basis. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to mandatory rights that apply in another part of the United Kingdom.
